James Earl Brown III (Jim)
Jim was most recently CEO, president, and a director for InvisibleHand Networks, Inc. Prior to joining InvisibleHand Networks, Jim served as a general partner at Polaris Venture Partners. At Polaris, Jim identified and led investments in InvisibleHand Networks, as well as other information technology companies, including MarketXT (Acquired by Tradescape; subsequently acquired by E-Trade); Crimson Solutions (merged with Experience, Inc.); Linguateq (Acquired by Sonus Networks); Watchfire; and Antenna Software. Jim also gained valuable management experience as a captain and aviator in the US Army. Jim is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Wang Center for the Performing Arts (www.wangcenter.org) of the Board of Trustees for the Media and Technology Charter High School (www.matchschool.org), a Boston charter high school whose mission is to prepare students from disadvantaged neighborhoods to succeed in college and beyond. Jim previously served on the boards of directors of MarketXT; Crimson Solutions; Linguateq; Invisible Hand Networks; Watchfire; and Antenna Software. Jim holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was President of his class; a JD from New York University, where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review, a Root-Tilden Scholar, and an International Fellow; and a BS in Engineering and Political Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was an intercollegiate varsity athlete, and where for four years he made Dean's List.
